Modular Training Pathway
Perfect for those seeking flexibility, this option allows you to complete your Private Pilot Licence [PPL(H)] at your own pace. Spread the cost of training and progress towards your Commercial Pilot Licence [CPL(H)] or simply enjoy recreational flying.
Stage 1
Pilot Selection Day
Book a Pilot Selection Day which includes up to two hours of flying for your logbook, assessments and a one-to-one careers chat to help you discover the best training pathway.


Stage 2
Private Pilot Licence
Enrol on to our Private Pilot Licence for Helicopters [PPL(H)] programme and start your training pathway. Graduate having passed the nine theory exams and a minimum of 45 hours of flying.
Stage 3
Commercial Theory and Hour Building
Now you have your PPL(H), you can start studying for the 13 commercial theory exams. In addition, begin your hour building to a minimum of 155 hours which includes a minimum 50 hours of Pilot in Command (PIC), to begin the commercial training module.


Stage 4
Commercial Pilot Licence
Now you’re ready to start your commercial practical training. Upon obtaining your commercial licence, you’re now legally allowed to work as a helicopter pilot.
Stage 5
Professional Development
To further develop your professional career, enrol on our Flight Instructor course or obtain your Multi-Engine Instrument Rating in an AW109, allowing you to fly in restricted visibility and twin-engined helicopters.

This full-time training programme is designed to take you from a novice with no previous experience to a commercial helicopter pilot in one seamless course.

Stage 2 - option 1
Integrated Commercial Training
Embark on our industry-recognised full-time commercial training programme, that will fast-track you to obtaining your commercial helicopter pilot licence. Graduate having passed your 13 commercial theory exams and 135 hours flying in your log book.
Stage 2 - option 2
Integrated Commercial Training with
Multi-Engine Instrument Rating
Take your professional training a step further with our full-time Integrated Commercial Training programme with an included module for obtaining your Multi-Engine Instrument Rating. This fast-tracked 180-hour course gives you a dedicated pathway to employment in twin-engined helicopter operations across the UK and further afield.


Stage 3
Employment
With your CPL(H) you can now professionally work as a helicopter pilot. Obtain a captain position in utility operations, pleasure and tourism flying, police helicopter services, as well as private and corporate charter.
Stage 4
Professional Development
