Pilot Selection Day
£650.00
If you would to apply for a place on one of our training courses you must first pass a pilot selection day. This consists of a number of assessments to determine whether you meet the standard for entry to the course you are applying for.
Selection lasts between 4 and 6 hours depending on your whether you choose to extend your flying time, and typically starts at 09:00, 11:30 or 14:00 subject to availability.
The day includes the following:
- An initial interview
- One hour of hands-on flight time (extendible to two hours)
- A pilot’s logbook to record the flights taken on the day
- All pre-flight briefings and debriefs
- FAST aptitude test
- Pilot selection interview
- Maths assessment
- Psychometric test
Once complete you will receive your result on the day (or within 48 hours if taken on a weekend), and if successful you will receive an offer letter for your choice of integrated or modular training.
You may be offered a bursary ranging between £1,000 and £5,000 if your assessment is scored as outstanding.
Regardless of the outcome, you will of course also have experienced flight at the controls of a Cabri G2 or Robinson R44 helicopter and this can be entered into your logbook (which will be provided on the day if you don’t already have one). This will count towards your total hours logged on helicopters.
