Becoming a flight instructor is incredibly challenging but extremely rewarding and the work you will do is both fulfilling and exciting every day.
The diverse range of training you will do on a day-to-day basis is a way for you to not only build experience, but also to develop your flying skills as you teach a new student how to fly.
As a newly qualified Commercial Pilot with just over 190 hours, the Flight Instructor Certificate is a brilliant addition to your licence and is provides a highly successful and proven route to a full-time flying career, as well as giving you the opportunity to gain valuable experience in a controlled and well-supported training environment.
A full-time FI(H) will typically reach 1500 hours after two to three years, unlocking more senior training or utility roles within the company, or employment in other sectors of the helicopter industry. Whilst instructing is an excellent way to get a foot on the career ladder, it is also exceptionally rewarding.
