Type rating skill test
Helicentre Aviation is approved to deliver AW109 type rating training courses in our PBN equipped A109S Grand, part of the AW109 family. The course is delivered by experienced type rating instructors who have a variety of previous experience in offshore Oil and Gas, HEMS, and onshore corporate flying roles.
We have trained hundreds of professional helicopter pilots from ab-initio (no experience) since the academy began operating in 2001. The AW109 rating is a very useful type rating to have as a standalone qualification, or can lead to undergoing an instrument rating course later (alternatively the type rating can be carried out as part of the instrument rating course).
A standalone first multi-engine type rating will last approximately two weeks and is typically conducted with a minimum of two students on the course (although one-to-one courses and conversions can also be carried out on request).
